Blueberry Almond Butter Protein Smoothie
This smoothie is one of my pre and post workout go-tos. It is packed with nutrition. My teenage son, who can be picky, also loves it. I love using frozen wild blueberries but with blueberries being in full swing this time of the year, I don’t feel bad using a basket of fresh ones either. I love the purple color, berry taste and the creaminess. I have added cinnamon to help with blood sugar regulation but I love the taste too. I added coconut yogurt for extra creaminess. At the bottom of this post I have included my current favorite smoothie boosts with links. I am all about building lean muscle mass at this stage of my life. Always a good time to do that. Feel free to use whatever protein powders you love. If you don’t want any extra added powders, this smoothie is nutritious and delicious without them. Blueberries, a superfood, as we all know well by now are packed with cancer fighting phytonutrients, vitamins and fiber and almond butter is protein rich. Use of my nut milk recipes I feature on the site. Drink up. It’s good for you and tastes great!!!
